Golden Triangle Travel Review: Our Friend Group's Honest Take

Four of us went on golden triangle travel across Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur. Here's exactly how the trip went for our group.

What Golden Triangle Travel Looked Like for Our Friend Group

Rather than each planning separate trips, the four of us decided to do golden triangle travel together, and it became one of those rare vacations where the group barely disagreed on anything. Here's the full picture of how the trip unfolded for us, on a journey we took with Hii Stories.

First Stop, Delhi

Landing tired after the flight, we were hit almost right away by just how chaotic Delhi's traffic gets, more than any online post had prepared us for. The Red Fort that first morning more than made up for the jet lag, and the food scene impressed us from day one, setting a high bar for everything that followed.

Making the Drive to Agra

The drive stretched on longer than any map estimate had suggested, but getting to the Taj Mahal in time for sunrise made every extra minute worthwhile. None of us had ever seen marble look quite like that in person, and no photo really captures it properly. Agra Fort nearly got cut to save time, and we're glad it didn't, since it gave real depth to everything we'd already seen that morning.

Getting Into the Rhythm of Jaipur

Jaipur carried a noticeably different energy compared to both Delhi and Agra. Reaching Amber Fort right at opening meant we dodged the crowds that piled up fast by mid morning, and the old city markets proved dangerous for everyone's wallet. Hawa Mahal at street level felt completely different from any photo we'd come across online.

What We'd Handle Differently Next Time

Looking back, we'd have given Jaipur more breathing room instead of rushing the old city the way we ended up doing. Breaking the Delhi to Agra drive with an overnight stop instead of pushing through in one go also came up repeatedly once we started comparing notes after the trip. Bringing snacks for the road is something we all learned the hard way somewhere past the halfway mark.

Why Golden Triangle Travel Suited a Group Our Size

  • Private transport kept the four of us together the whole way, no syncing schedules with strangers on a shared tour, a real upgrade from the same day trips a few of us had done solo before
  • Every city came with its own local guide, pulling out details none of us would have stumbled onto scrolling travel blogs beforehand
  • The pace shifted naturally around whatever the group wanted to spend more time on, so nobody ever felt rushed through a stop

Where Our Group Landed

This turned into one of the best trips we've taken together, with barely any disagreement across the four of us. We're already discussing adding Udaipur or Jodhpur to a future trip, and everyone was on board with booking through the same place again, no hesitation.

If golden triangle travel is on your radar for your own group, let Hii Stories know how many of you are going and they'll shape the route around your group, the same way ours came together.
